Eind september stond deze Deens-Zweedse formatie nog op "Goezot" en een paar dagen later verscheen officieel hun 4de album. We hebben het hier over de rockin' blues fromatie "The Kokomo Kings". De band is een samenwerking van een aantal Zweedse en Deense top bluesmuzikanten die ervaring opdeden als backing band voor artiesten als James Harman, Rusty Zinn en Lazy Lester. De band bestaat uit Martin Abrahamsson (zang en gitaar), Magnus Lanshammar (bas en gitaar), Ronni Boysen (gitaar) en Daniel Winerö (drums).

Ze combineren met het grootste gemak Chicago blues met boogie, country en rock & roll. Het zoveelste bewijs dat er in het noorden van Europa ook al jaren geweldige authentieke blues gemaakt wordt. Live komen ze echt pas tot leven of zoals ze het zelf omschrijven : “Take a big bucket of unpolished Mississippi juke joint boogie and blend it with another bucket of laid back down home blues. Add a teacup of swamp pop, a tablespoon of hillbilly and a pound of profane, ecstatic gospel and you’ll have the Kokomo Kings. This ain’t nothing but primitive, groovy Saturday-night music made for dancing”. 

The Kokomo Kings heeft de reputatie opgebouwd een compromisloos brouwsel te spelen op een verscheidenheid aan low-down rockende rootsmuziek, diep geworteld in de blues. Onze hoogtepunten zijn "Buckle Up" en "Jump Like A Chicken", beide floorfillers!
